PENNIES FOR ALS

1,000,000 Pennies for A.L.S.

This year, I want to do something different for A.L.S. I want to raise ONE MILLION PENNIES FOR ALS That is I want to collect a penny for every dollar that we have pledged for ALS.

I keep hearing stories from people about jars of pennies at home; they hate the adorable little guys so they throw them into a jar when they get home. Well this year I want them. You might hate them but ALS loves them.

We have a Texas Mickey rye bottle in 797 dispatch that the drivers dump their change already. We will need some tins in every branch. I have a supply of official ALS tins if you require them.

Also this project is too big for just Williams and St George to do alone. You will need to get your local Rotary or Lions club or whatever community group that you belong to help out. You should ask your local church or even the local schools.

Don't be shy to take other denominations of money a $20 bill is 2,000 pennies if you want to look at it that way.  Please send me a running count of pennies that you collect.

We already have around 5,000 to start do that's only 995,000 left to collect.  Thanks for your continued assistance in this fight.

ABOUT THE GEORGE "SONNY" WILLIAMS ENDOWMENT FUND

The George "Sonny" Williams Endowment Fund was established in 2003 to support caregivers of people living with ALS.  In 2009, because of the support of people attending the golf tournament and other Williams Moving & Storage fundraisers, four (4) Caregivers Days were sponsored in the Okanagan, Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley and West Kootenays funded by the interest accrued from the Fund.

Comment from caregiver day...    "Thank you for coming all the way to Creston to hold a caregiver day for us.  I no longer feel isolated.  I know where to turn for help", a Caregiver

Your help will provide more hope.  Thank you.

Tom Williams,  Director Williams Moving & Storage
