If you have a piece of durable medical equipment that is in good working condition and meets our criteria (see below), here is the process for how you can donate it and find it a good home while receiving a tax receipt.
1) Contact the Equipment Loan Coordinator at 604-685-0737 ext.223 or email
2) Please have the age of the item, brand name, model name and size to assist us in determining if there is a need for this item in our inventory.
3) If you reside outside of Victoria or Lower Mainland, you may be asked to provide a photo of the item prior to the ALS Society accepting the responsibility for shipping it to our warehouse.
4) The ALS Society appreciates if an item can be dropped off at our warehouse or has prepaid shipping.
5) When the item for donation is received into our warehouse it is assessed for the current value (not the value that the item was purchased for).
6) The ALS Society of BC issues a tax receipt based on the assessed value within 8 weeks of the donation.
Based on condition and storage availability, below is a list of durable medical equipment gratefully accepted by the ALS Society of BC.
All items MUST be less than five (5) years old and in working condition for consideration.
