ALS Society of BC North Central Island Chapter elects Executive Commiittee

At the ALS Society of BC North Central Island Living with ALS Support group meeting held in Nanaimo on May 17th, the Chapter’s executive committee was re-elected for the next term.  Serving a second term - Sheldon Cleaves, President and voting member on the provincial board of directors; Shirley Theriault, Secretary and Betty Edwards, Director at Large.  Sheldon is also serves as the Secretary of the provincial board of directors.

Sheldon Cleaves also volunteers as the Coordinator of the Mid Island Walk for ALS which takes place June 4th in Parksville.  To register and for more information www.walkforals.ca

“The ALS Society of BC’s strongest asset is our volunteer program.  We simply would not be able to offer the programs we do without the support of our volunteers,” Wendy Toyer, executive director ALS Society of BC in attendance to oversee the AGM.  “We are so thankful to have the support of our North Central Island and Victoria Chapters. 

The Chapter is a branch of the ALS Society of British Columbia and is comprised of volunteer members of the Society who raise funds & awareness for ALS.  The North Central Island Chapter supports the north central region of Vancouver Island as well as the Powell River area.  

Bev Trickey is the NCIC Support Group Facilitator.
