NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF MEMBERS

NOTICE IS GIVEN that the Annual Meeting of the members of the ALS Society of British Columbia (the “Society”) will be held on Tuesday April 3rd  2018 at 5:30PM at Quilchena Golf & Country Club, 3551 Granville Ave, Richmond, BC.

• Receive the Financial Statements of the Society and the Auditor’s report for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2017;

Nelson Businesses Donate to Patient Services

Just in time for the holiday season, the ALS Society of BC has received a total of $1,500 in donations from several businesses in Nelson, in support of patient services and ALS research. Gord Shannon, an active volunteer, and member of the ALS Society of BC received the cheque on behalf of the organization.

ALS CANADA AWARDS $3 MILLION FOR 12 NEW RESEARCH PROJECTS;

2017 funding competition completes $20 million research partnership with the Brain Canada Foundation following the Ice Bucket Challenge

TORONTO, November 22, 2017 – Today, the ALS Society of Canada announced 12 exciting new research
projects being funded in 2017 through the ALS Canada Research Program, which is supported by ALS
Societies across Canada. The research being funded includes a multi-year study of a promising drug

HME and Sunrise Medical Presenting Sponsors of the Walks for ALS

HME Mobility & Accessibility and Sunrise Medical have signed a three year agreement with the ALS Society if B.C. as the presenting sponsors of the Walks for ALS in B.C. and the Yukon.

The Walks for ALS are the ALS Society's signature fundraising event, which brings together family and friends in support of ALS. From a modest beginning in 2001 with eight walks across the country, the WALK for ALS has grown to more than 90 Walks in 2018.

Enterprise Foundation Supports ALS BC

Started in 1982 by the company’s founder, Jack Taylor, the Enterprise Holdings Foundation was established to allow the company to give back to the communities where our customers and employees live and work.

John Stempfle, Lower Mainland Truck Manager and Darryl Caines, Langley Enterprise Rent a Car dropped by the ALS BC office to present a $1,500  donation in recognition of June ALS Awareness Month.
